Do any of you people remember Jim Harbaugh?
I surely do—really well.
I have a poster of him in my room. It used to be my Dad’s, but he gave it to me.
Right now he is the big brother of the Baltimore Ravens’ head coach, John Harbaugh. Jim is the coach for the Stanford football program.
I most notably remember Jim with the Indianapolis Colts. He joined the Colts in 1994, after being with Chicago for seven years and earning his career high passing yards with the team in 1991.
In 1995, Jim had his highest completion percentage with 63 percent. He also had career high in touchdowns with 17.
During that year, Jim lead the “Cinderella Colts” to the playoffs. It ended with a dropped Hail Mary pass against the Steelers.

Harbaugh was also voted towards the Pro Bowl, won the Comeback Player of the Year, and won the AFC Player of the Year award. He also finished second in MVP voting. He also won the Passer Rating title.
Jim was inducted to the Colts’ Ring of Honor in 2005 for his popular achievements with the team and his stats with the team: 8,705 yards and 49 touchdowns in his career with the Colts.
After his last year with the Colts in 1997, finishing 3-13 that year, Harbaugh was traded to the Ravens which made room for Indianapolis to pick Peyton Manning.
In 1999 he led the team to an 8-8 record but then the very next year, he finished 1-15.
In 2000 Harbaugh let Ryan Leaf do everything which made the Chargers go 1-15 in 2000.
Harbaugh was signed with the Lions the next year, but was going to be backup to Charlie Batch—who is now the backup to the Steelers.
However, during the regular season, the Lions traded him for Ty Detmer. He then ended his career with the Carolina Panthers.
Harbaugh’s career stats speaks for themselves: 26,288 yards and 129 touchdowns.
Harbaugh, in my mind, will always be known as Captain Comeback.
Now do you remember Jim Harbaugh?
Still Captain of Comebacks, still one of the bests.

Harbaugh gave Colts fans so much to look forward to and rewarded with the eventual acquisition of Peyton Manning. The Hail Mary at Pittsburgh was the closest I ever came to throwing something at my TV (still think they were robbed of an INT call.) I remember Harbaugh being able to take a hit, probably concussed in the hit, turf sticking out his helmet from the hit and keep playing.
